R. GOPAL

R. Gopal is one of the Managing Directors of the Company right since inception. A graduate in commerce from Kerala University and further qualified with a certificate in the course organized UNCTAD, in the sphere of containerised shipment.

Gopal has an impressive gamut of experience in the fields of shipping and logistics since the year 1981. His 34 years’ experience spans almost all aspects including Liner Agency, NVOCC operations, Tramp Agency, Chartering & Bulk vessel operation, LCL consolidation, International Freight Forwarding, etc.

In the sphere of ship owning, Gopal has been involved right from sourcing of vessels to arranging of finance, Chartering, Evaluation of technical management, claims, ship demolishing, etc.

His crowning glory experience is in the domain of Liquid Logistics, where he had a stewardship role in conceiving and captaining various activities like Flexi Tanks, ISO tanks and operations representing foreign tank operators, domestic tank container operations in India, etc. He is also very knowledgeable in Gas Tank logistics.

During the course of his rich career, he has donned various roles and at various points of time; additionally handled activities such as breakbulk shipments, project cargo, heavy lift shipments, warehousing, exhibition shipments, air freight and total logistics.

Gopal started his career with the renowned Transworld group and right upto the time he founded the Goodrich Group, worked for Transworld group in various capacities.

From 1981 he commenced his career as a shipping assistant till 1997 where he held a dual charge as General Manager of two companies – Meridian and Crescent Shipping, representing two main line operators, viz. Ignazio Messina and NA a Malaysian international shipping company (Govt. of Malaysia owned) for their pan India operations was at a meteoric rise. This was possible because of Mr. Gopal’s increasing knowledge and skills and extreme devotion and determination to Company’s calls.

Born in 1959, Gopal is an avid golfer well known in the Indian business circles.

T. VENKATARAMAN

T. Venkataraman born in the year 1955 has a first class degree in science with additional qualifications in Law, Shipping and Marine Insurance.

He is also a ‘F’ card holder in Indian customs, having passed the Rule 9 exam.

He is known for his strong leadership and communication skills. Had proven ability at team building and over the last 39 years in the Shipping and Logistics Industry has a reputation of good business acumen and confident management.

His career commenced with the 10 years stint in a premier shipping company, The Scindia Steam Navigation Co. Ltd where he honed his skills in P& I , Hull Insurance and other legal matters

Later had the distinction of having planned and executed to successful maritime projects viz. Balaji Shipping & Shreyas Shipping. While he was a GM at the famed Transworld group, both these projects were trendsetters of sorts and even today are dominating their respective domains.

Together with R. Gopal in the year 1997, he established Goodrich Maritime Pvt. Ltd., the flagship of what is known today as Goodrich group. Together both these gentlemen have in a matter of 19 years progressed the fledgling Goodrich Maritime to dizzy heights and is today the most diversified shipping and logistics Group.

During this period Mr. Venkataraman was instrumental in establishing activities such as Liner agency, Tramp agency, Chartering, Bulk Liquids, LCL Consolidation, Intermodal & International Freight forwarding and Total Logistics.

His aggressive approach has assisted the group to expand pan India and across the Globe.

Venkat is also a prolific writer and a versatile public speaker.
